Results you can trust
Choosing a surgeon is about more than having a successful operation. It’s about relieving pain, restoring mobility and helping you return to the activities you enjoy.
I routinely measure every patient’s recovery using Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) – these are nationally recognised questionnaires completed before and after surgery. These provide an unbiased measure of improvements in pain, function and quality of life and allow me to continually monitor and improve the care I provide.

Detailed Results
Hip Replacement
The graphs below show how my patients’ pain, function and quality of life improve following hip replacement surgery, with excellent outcomes maintained throughout long-term follow-up.

Knee Replacement
Patients also report substantial improvements following knee replacement surgery. As with all long-term follow-up studies, fewer patients complete questionnaires at later time points, so five-year results should be interpreted in that context.

Why I measure PROMS
Collecting patient-reported outcomes allows me to monitor my results, compare them with national standards and continually improve the care I provide.
I believe patients should have access to objective information as well as patient reviews when choosing their surgeon.
